Nils-Arne Schroeder is the vice president of Luxury brands at Hilton, Asia Pacific. Schroeder’s vast experience in the hospitality industry spans more than 30 years across numerous countries. He started his career with Hilton over 20 years ago and through his extensive experience in the region, has developed an acute understanding of the Asia Pacific market.
Based out of the company's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, Schroeder spearheads all brand-led initiatives for the company’s luxury brands which include Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts and Conrad Hotels & Resorts. While overseeing more than 30 trading hotels across the portfolio and more than 20 hotels in the pipeline, Schroeder is also integral to driving the fast-growing momentum of the group’s luxury footprint in the region through a compelling brand voice, close collaboration with the Development and Commercial teams and strong owner relationships. Notably, over the past two years, Hilton signed a record number of luxury deals in Asia Pacific including the largest Conrad hotel in Shanghai and the first Waldorf Astoria hotels in Australia, Japan and Malaysia whilst launching the LXR brand in the region, delivering on Hilton’s unrelenting growth momentum in the midst of some of the most challenging years for the global hospitality industry.
Most recently, Schroeder was also concurrently at the helm of Conrad Hotels & Resorts, overseeing the global portfolio of 40 trading Conrad hotels and 20 in the pipeline. Across his 18-month tenure as global brand head for Conrad Hotels & Resorts, he redefined the brand – positioning it as the next generation of luxury for its hotels and guests – and led its strategic growth and development across the globe. Some notable milestones achieved under his leadership include the entry of the award-winning brand into prime destinations such as Shanghai, Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles, and picking up top brand accolades such as the titles of "World's Leading Luxury Hotel Brand for 2021" and "Asia’s Leading Luxury Business Hotel Brand 2021" in the 28th edition of the World Travel Awards.
Previously, Schroeder was the regional general manager of Indonesia and Timor Leste. He played an integral role in expanding the robust hotel pipeline, developing strategies for employee training and development while driving performance, brand value, guest satisfaction and engagement, as well as service quality.
Other accomplishments include successfully opening and managing Conrad Seoul, Hilton Beijing Wangfujing, Hilton Namhae Golf & Spa Resort and Hilton Kuala Lumpur. Under Schroeder’s five-year leadership as general manager of Conrad Seoul, the hotel became one of the best performing hotels in the region, winning numerous global accolades.
A German national, Schroeder is married with two teenage kids. He enjoys travelling around the globe with his family, and discovering new destinations, cultures and lifestyles.
